CUBAN SANDWICH FACTORY

Raise your hand if you’ve seen the movie “Chef” with my man John Favreau. If you’re not raising your hand go fix the problem right away because that film is the real sh*t if you are into good food, street food, proper food, all food. One word, without giving you too many spoilers: Cubanos!

This place is the real deal: Carlos, the owner, is from Cuba and he’s been around as a chef for quite a while, working in restaurants and markets too, so he knows what he’s serving and he’s got the right “f*** off if you don’t like it” attitude. The name says it all: it’s a Cuban sandwich shop; it’s tiny and decorated just like you’d expect a place with character to be decorated, nothing else. The stars of the place are those sandwiches: tasty and dirty just like I want them to be. My favourite choice when I visit the place is the Ropa Vieja, with shredded beef, peppers, onions and cheddar: it’s good, order it!
